Radical acceptance means that when you're faced with a situation that's problematic and causes you pain, you take an honest look at the situation and make a choice to accept that reality is what it is. Then you make a choice to accept that there is a cause to what's painful, and you also choose to accept that even though life can sometimes suck beyond the telling of it, it's still worth living.

I learned a lot about that at the House. I'm a pretty capable guy - when I put my mind to accomplishing something, nothing short of an act of God is gonna stop me, if it's just up to me. But it's different with people. You can't force your will on other people, and wanting something from them that they can't or won't give you only leads to misery.
